Ideal for donation requests under $100, these requests are reviewed monthly and are intended for funding for any group, organization, or individual donation requests.  Opportunity to attach letters, additional information, etc. is provided in the application.

The CHS Prairie Lakes Community Funds program is used for funding requests of $100-$1,000 and was established as a way to provide project funding for local schools, agricultural groups, and community organizations.  Each year, the Community Funds program runs quarterly, with the first application deadline occurring in October.

Seeds for Stewardship

Seeds for Stewardship Application

The CHS Seeds for Stewardship program is jointly supported by CHS Prairie Lakes and CHS Inc.  This program can provide funding of $2,000 – $10,000 for projects focused on supporting either rural youth leadership, agricultural safety, or rural vitality.  Applications for this program are due yearly by June 10 and are part of a two-part review process, both through CHS Prairie Lakes and CHS Inc.

High School Senior Scholarships

High School Senior Scholarships

Ensuring a strong future for agriculture is the primary goal of CHS Prairie Lakes scholarships. We will be awarding several scholarships to high school seniors in 2017, with amounts ranging from $250 to $1250 based on information provided in the application, as decided by the scholarship committee. Payment of scholarship monies will be made jointly to the scholarship recipient and their college or university as indicated on this application. Recipients must prove their enrollment before August 15, 2017 to receive funds.
*If awarded a scholarship over $600, you will be required to submit a W-9 before payment.*

In-office application deadline for this program is January 1, 2017 at 5 pm.

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Resident of the CHS Prairie Lakes trade area
  • Graduating high school senior
  • GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Must have a designated major
  • Must submit completed application (applications with missing information will not be considered)

Selection process:
Applicant selection will be based on academic achievement, leadership characteristics, community involvement, and their vision of the future of agriculture. Recipients are selected from the applying pool of applicants by the scholarship committee. Special consideration is given to children of CHS Prairie Lakes’ member-owners.

NOTE: PLEASE HAVE READY THE HIGH SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR OR PRINCIPAL EVALUATION FORM AND TWO (2) LETTERS OF REFERENCE BEFORE YOU BEGIN.
