Starbuck, Minn, The Osakis High School Agriculture Department was awarded an Agricultural Classroom/FFA grant from CHS Prairie Lakes as part of the company’s Community Grant Program.
CHS Prairie Lakes selected Shad Schmidt, agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor, to receive a $125 grant to purchase rod building equipment for custom fishing rod building. Schmidt currently teaches students and community members how to build custom fishing rods and will now have the opportunity to purchase more equipment to expand this program within the school and community.
Applying schools and local community organizations are asked to indicate their plans for the grant money, supply general information about the school/organization, the project, and the purpose of the request, along with specific financial needs and projected outcomes.
